Is ChatGPT Recommending Your Courses?
Learners are asking AI assistants which provider to choose. A short guide to checking what they say about you, and how to show up in the answer.
“What’s the best place to do a Level 3 course near me?” More learners are typing questions like this into ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity instead of Google, and acting on the answer.
If those tools don’t know your provider, you’re not in the conversation.
Check where you stand
Ask a few AI assistants the questions your learners would ask:
- “Best [course] providers in [city]”
- “Free [subject] courses for adults in [region]”
- “Is [your provider] any good?”
Note who gets named, what’s said about you, and which sources get cited.
Make it easy for AI to recommend you
- Answer real questions on your site. One clear course page per qualification, with who it’s for, eligibility, duration, start dates and outcomes near the top.
- Be consistent everywhere. Your name, courses and locations should match across your site, Google Business Profile and directories.
- Earn mentions on sites the models trust: education directories, local news, partner organisations.
- Add structured data (Organization, Course, FAQ) so your pages are easy to read and cite.
None of this replaces good SEO. It builds on it, and providers who start now will be the names AI recommends while competitors are still catching up.
